History
The Boondocks Marina has a rich history dating back to the 1950's where it was well known in the community as the Dorsal Fishing Post.
Started and run by two women in 1954, Doris S Kolliker and Sally Johns (which is where the name Dorsal originated from: Dor from Doris and Sal from Sally. The Dorsal Fishing Post was a very well known and successful fishing camp whose clientele included heads of industry, movie stars, singers, and politicians who were fly fishing aficionados. that had cottages, a restaurant, and fishing guides which continued running it until 1963.
